It is extremely mellow sounding, muffled, dark, compressed etc like someone put a blanket over the speakers. I do not understand the rave reviews with exception that this is a wonderful album musically, but this 45 rpm reissue sound so bad I guess my copy may be faulty. Totally disappointing-Faulty pressing? posted on The 33 RPM version is far superior in my opinion. The first disc is fairly quiet, but the second disc has a lot of surface noise. I also have the 33 RPM version, which sounds fantastic! Perhaps my copy is defective as well. It is like the master tape was recorded without Dolby and played back with Dolby. Not a single tick or pop.highly unusual these days for new pressings. This is as good as my original but with super quiet vinyl. I compared it to an original pressing as well as a 33rpm 180g pressing. bass and mid range are perfectly balanced With minimal equalization and pressed dead quiet I have both the MFSL and the Nautilis half speed. Sorry to see some terrible reviews or bad luck copies that some people have received. If you love this album, I guarantee you won’t regret it.Ĥ5 RPM blows the doors off all the others posted on Hands down, this 45 rpm version is number 1 followed by the Pallas 33rpm single disc version. Flawless and such a beautiful rich sound with great musical separation and dead quiet as you can get. This is the absolute best sounding pressing of this album you can possibly own. This 45RPM blows my original copy with dynamics and tight base, what a difference, almost like a new album. Outstanding - Don't miss this! posted on

Very cool indeed just like Fleetwood Mac was. Very clean pressing with nary background hiss. This is exactly how it should sound mellow with excellent bass. All digital versions of this recording are artificially bright. Indeed it does, its not a defect, its exactly how it should have sounded. Some complained that this recording sounds mellow. How it should have sounded all along! posted on Count yourself lucky if you get a copy that plays quietly. Side 4 of this version has pops throughout, mostly in the right channel that won’t go away even after three separate wet cleanings, which is a bummer. I’ve compared this to my 2011 33 1/3 version also pressed at Pallas and honestly don’t feel like there’s an audible difference between the two, as sound quality is equally excellent. I bought this out of curiosity and not necessity.
